We have cultivated a trusted relationship with Volvo that spans over 30 years, being the sole branding and signage provider for more than 100 car dealerships across the UK. Over the years this partnership has adapted to the world around it and both companies have found new ways of providing what each other needs, all the while making sure safety, quality and sustainability are always at the forefront of any new projects.
Initially sparked by a tender process where price, capability, and a recycling ethos ahead of its time, we won that first initial contract and the relationship has grown into what it is today.
Building trust, through a mutual understanding of the importance of brand and adhering to strict guidelines is paramount in taking care of Volvo’s bespoke signage requirements. Since the 90s there has only been two evolutions of signage with a third underway. This is a remarkably small number in such a long period. Not only does this help build global brand equity, but it also contributes to the goal of living on a more environmentally friendly planet.
Manufacturing branding signs to Volvo’s exacting quality standards and the clean, pared-back look of the dealerships, means there is nowhere to hide for any sub-standard construction. Extending the scope, more recently, to manufacture and install the ‘Selekt’ signage and Volvo’s stylish new entrance canopies felt like a natural progression, and these enhance every dealership at which they appear.
The project management team at Merson oversees the whole process from design collaboration with the brand owners and engagement with their design agency, Meda, at the front-end right through to delivery, installation and maintenance of the products. We always offer that personal touch whilst ensuring that the individuality of each dealership is respected.
Long-term relationships take a lot of work and our team are acutely aware of that, but they are ultimately more rewarding for all parties. Volvo regard us as experts in our field as the skills and experience in design, manufacturing and installation have been replicated time and time again with minimal disruption to normal working practices within the dealerships. They have confidence in us to proactively manage projects on their behalf and work as an accommodating partner rather than just another supplier.
