New Cutting-Edge Facility at Lancaster University
CGL Facades are delighted to announce that they have won the contract to manufacture and supply the cladding for the new Lancaster University Management Suite. This project forms part of an ambitious infrastructure programme at the University, set to deliver a range of cutting- edge facilities along with significantly more space for the growing number of students, staff and visitors.
Lancaster University was one of several new universities created in the 1960’s and quickly became a popular choice due to its emphasis on student experience and employability. Located on a beautiful campus, it was announced the highest-ranking university in the North of England in the Times and Sunday Times League Table 2019, and was named University of the Year 2018 by the Times and Sunday Times.
This latest investment will provide a new five story building which will be ready to open its doors to students for the start of the 2020/21 academic year. The new building will cover a total of 5,667m2, equivalent to around four tennis courts per floor, and will boast three new lecture theatres, offices, a new reception, teaching suite and more open collaboration spaces.
CGL Facades were awarded the contract from Hi-Spec Cladding & Roofing Ltd who will be installing around 1000m2 of our Secret Fix Hook on Rainscreen Cassette System. This system was chosen for the Management Suite Building as it allows us to utilise the CGL low zone rail for a reduced cladding zone, which was vital to achieve the desired look specified by the architect.
We are delighted to continue to add to our portfolio of educational building projects, particularly, as research continues to present a link between improving educational spaces with more effective learning.
We look forward to sharing more progress on this project soon
